Let me begin this article by saying that meat is great. There are few things that are greater than the taste of red meat. As an American male, cows and pigs have been my tasty best friends for almost my entire life. No food is not enhanced by the addition of the words "wrapped in bacon." And even with all this praise, vegetarian foods still have a lot of positives.

Looking at the information available, you can see the positives that come with a completely vegetarian diet. Even though meats have some things that help you survive such as essential proteins, there are foods that fit into a vegetarian diet that can help supplement the things that come in meat and give it to you in other ways.

With the amount of saturated fats that are in meat as well as the addition of good fats and antioxidants that come with the vegetables that are eaten instead of meats, vegetarians lead a healthy lifestyle. In grown males, a vegetarian diet can drop the chance of heart disease from 50% to 15%.

Cholesterol is something that most people have to deal with at some point in their lives. With a vegetarian diet, there is much less cholesterol in the diet which helps overall with your health. Meats have a lot of cholesterol and causes a lot of people issues in the long run. Companies like Quorn make food for vegetarians so they do not have to deal with these issues.

Vegetarians love to talk about how great and healthy their lifestyle is. They talk about how they have less fats in their diet and they can still get the protein they need to be healthy. The risk of disease is much lower for vegetarians than for meat eaters. Unfortunately, some people like bacon just too much to give it up and eat arugula for the rest of their lives.
