When you have gotten the hang of a few basic techniques, cooking can be very enjoyable.

However, when the individual who is preparing your dinner is quite skilled at what they are doing, then food time can even be more enjoyable.

Don't use a type of wine in your meal that is a kind you wouldn't drink regularly.

If you cook with an unfamiliar wine, you run the risk of disliking the taste of the wine and having it ruin your food.

If you do this, you will never be short of stock for soups, stews, and other such dishes.

If you really like to use a lot of herbs and spices, you need to keep them in a dark and cool place so they can retain their freshness and flavor. If the spices are stored in cabinets by the stove or near other warmer places, this could result in their flavor loss and a money loss for you.

Beans or tofu are excellent sources of protein that you may not have yet considered adding to your diet. Both are readily available in grocery stores.

If you have sauce left over after a meal, store the remainder in one or more ice cube trays and let it freeze.

In some cases, you will find the longer preparation window will make your end result a flavorful masterpiece.

Once you become accustomed to completing advanced prep work, you may never cook any other way.
