When the holiday season approaches and cool mornings have you reaching for a sweater, then you may be feeling the urge to pull out your cooking guide, mixing bowls, and measuring cups. The Baking season is upon us, so why not try this tasty and simple recipe for Gingerbread Waffles. Your house will smell divine plus your loved ones will thank you. This recipe is faster and much easier to generate than some other recipes. Moreover, you’ll be trying an enjoyable variant on breakfast staple.

Gingerbread Waffles Ingredients:

1 cup of real butter, 1 cup of granulated sugar, 2 large eggs, 3 cup molasses, 2 cups flour, 1 1 tsp. salt, 2 tsp. finely ground ginger, 1 tsp. finely ground cinnamon, 1 tsp. ground cloves, 1 cup of boiling water

Instructions

The initial step would be to heat and spray your waffle maker based on the directions of the appliance manufacturer. Next, cream the butter and granulated sugar until the mix is light and airy. Then add the two eggs together with the molasses, and beat the ingredients together until they're smooth. Inside a different bowl sift the dry ingredients together, including the flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon and cloves. It is best to add the rest of the ingredients into the butter blend by alternating the combined dry ingredients with the boiling water.

Spoon the batter into the waffle maker and allow it to spread. Check your waffle handbook for an exact time, although each waffle should take about 3 to 4 minutes. The batter will steam at first and when it stops, the waffle should be ready for you to plate. You could expect the batter to create approximately 12 waffles which are 4 inches in size, or if you've got a Belgium waffle maker, the batter will make 3 huge fluffy Belgium waffles. You can double the recipe if your family is large. Additionally, the waffles are mouthwatering when served with maple syrup, apple butter or cinnamon syrup.

You could make homemade cinnamon syrup with a few ingredients that are probably already in your spice cabinet.

Cinnamon Syrup Ingredients

1 cup white sugar, 1 cup compacted brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, 1 tsp. cinnamon, 1 tsp. vanilla extract, 1 cup water

Instructions

Combine the powder sugar, cinnamon and flour in a saucepan. After that, put vanilla and water. Heat the ingredients to a rolling boil, stirring frequently. Continue to heat the mix while stirring and the combination will begin to thicken into syrup. Once the mixture thickens, remove from the heat and allow it to cool for 10 minutes.

For a variation, you can coat your gingerbread waffles with a cream cheese icing, creating a special breakfast treat.
