Dorothy's life on the farm was not something I could consider simple. From seemingly unappreciative family members to the wicked actions of one Almira Gulch, it's clear that her time on the farm had its share of bad times as well as good. One has to wonder how much of a blessing the reluctant journey to Oz was for Dorothy. She can't escape her real life in Kansas but I feel like her poor life could have been made better thanks to an organic farmers market run by her and her family.

I'm sure most, if not all, of us have seen "The Wizard of Oz" along with Dorothy's growth throughout the movie. When she landed at Oz, she was well-mannered but weak in comparison to the woman that she would eventually grow into. She was threatened at times, which only helped to bring out the personality she rarely showed until then. She had the chance to develop a more robust sense of self and she executed that well. Who's to say that wouldn't translate well to a life on the farm as an organic salesgirl?

It's no secret that Dorothy lived in a home where money was not commonplace. In fact, Gulch threatened to have the entire farm taken away due to the feisty actions of Dorothy's small dog, Toto. Perhaps the money that this farm would raise would be able to help them out of the financial slump and into a more reasonable amount of comfort. While Dorothy's aunt and uncle, as well as some of the workers, would scoff at the idea initially, they would come around after seeing the success within.

The amount of success especially comes into play when thinking of companies such as Colle Farmers Market. Essentially, these organizations have worked to help farmers when marketing their crops to people over the Internet. An organic farmers market is something that people should take to more frequently due to the abundance and freshness of the products that are being sold. Dorothy should be able to make great use of this, considering her life on the farm, and make it something that she would excel at.

Dorothy's life on the farm might not have been that glorious but it not like she lived a fruitless life. Being able to go through Oz and growing up in the process was something that undoubtedly helped her out in the real world. She would come away from it a better person and she wouldn't be so shy about tackling opportunities that were set in front of her. Whether she becomes a salesperson or not, there's no question that she has the potential for success.
